Couples Counselling
Sometimes, the best way to approach counselling is as a pair, with the person we're having the most challenging relational issues with. For many people, that can be their partner. Is it any surprise that we run into problems with our partners? It's quite possible that you spend more time with your partner than anyone else. This is somebody you rely on to help maintain your life - the organisation of your home, your diet, your social calendar... the list goes on. The way they do things inevitably has a big impact on how your life runs from one day, week, or month, to the next. If that's not enjoyable, or at least sustainable, then you may need to sit down together and talk it through.
I can work with most couples' issues, but my speciality is mixed-neurotype couples - for example, if one of you is neurotypical and the other has ADHD, or if one of you has ADHD and the other, autism. Many mixed-neurotype couples feel a lot of love for one another, but that doesn't make differing communication styles or expectations in relationships any easier. That's where I may be able to help you to become a more effective team.
My training, which is mainly in transactional analysis, has couples work baked in. It can help you to understand what's happening between you as a pair, and what you might be able to do differently.
Session Details
I can meet couples at Orchard Street in the middle of Bristol city, or on Zoom. My fee is £90 per session, and my sessions are 75 minutes long. Send me a message if you'd like to arrange an initial chat or first session.
